Nezisková organizace, která
vydala charitativní kalendář s fotkami, texty a básněmi(!) ze
známého TV pořadu Šumná města, potřebovala překlad těchto textů jak
pro kalendář, tak pro putovní výstavu fotografií, jejichž výdělky byly určeny
do fondu na záchranu chátrajících architektonických skvostů
z meziválečného období. Vzhledem k povaze textů a hlavně básní
architekta/herce Davida Vávry to byla výzva. Hlavně texty básní často nešlo jen
tak přeložit, tam, kde český humor nefungoval, jsme museli nalézt podobně
vyznívající konstrukci v cizím jazyce a navíc u toho rýmovat.

| A non-profit organization
published a charity calendar and organised exhibitions of photographs of Czech
industrial and functionalistic architecture from between the two wars. Both
were related to a TV show, called Sumna města (Graceful Towns), in which architect/actor
David Vavra presented notable buildings from the period using rhymed ironic
texts and sketches composed for the occasion. Some of these ‘poems’ were
included in the calendar and the exhibition catalogue and had to be translated
into English and German.
